Yesterday on the twitch platform a discussion on nitrogen based explosives was performed. Three young group leaders were among the participants including assistant professor of our laboratory, L. L. Fershtat. He spoke about the synthesis of high-energy furoxan-based compounds, which are promising objects in the design of novel energetic materials.
During the stream, various issues were discussed: from safety precautions upon isolation of energetic compounds to future prospective directions in the field. For organic chemists, this was an interesting experience and an inspiring message in developing different approaches to new high-energy materials.
